Our design team undertakes the following design:
Our design capability will provide input, feedback and justification on design modifications, all aimed at improving manufacturability.
We utilise state of the art CADCAM packages so that we can create stage drawings for complex components and assemblies. In addition, the team often design new finished components or reverse engineer projects from existing patterns and products.
For projects where we haven’t been contracted to be the design authority, we regularly assist our clients by undertaking manufacturability reviews. If we see that the design intent could be met with better manufacturability, we can create alternative proposals where allowable, incorporating our wealth of manufacturing knowledge and innovative methodologies.
Our customer’s can benefit from our product and component development capability, leveraging our experience to make the right design decisions from the outset of a project, delivering product designs that meet all specified and regulatory requirements, including lifecycle cost and programme time.
We utilise the CAD software SolidWorks (2020) which is fully integrated within our CNC machining programming and CMM inspection packages, allowing for efficient cost effective programming. Goodwin employs the latest 3D laser scanning technology which, once combined with 3D modelling, produces accurate detailed representations for use by the production and inspection teams. This is particularly useful in ensuring that castings can be machined to produce optimum performance.
Used for design visualisation, our 3D Printing Technology enables us to review and identify all the key features of a component to ensure that all customer requirements can be delivered. These models are then used during production meetings, analysed by key personnel to confirm component requirements and to provide the customer with a visual aid of the component being manufactured.
Robert is responsible for the design team dedicated to precision engineering projects ranging from plant layout to defence contracts. Contributions to this type of work can range from converting customer drawings to 3D models and 2D stage drawings for manufacture, to full design responsibility. Robert has a proven track record in the field of mechanical engineering delivery, specifically full life cycle design and project management in product development.
Yoni joined Goodwin International in 2014, bringing with him 17 years of experience working in research & design for manufacturing, project management and team leading. The core responsibility of Yoni’s role is to provide technical support for all precision engineering projects, for the power generation, civil nuclear and defence sectors. Yoni has an extensive background of using 3D CAD, supplemented with a ‘hands on’ practice well suited to the engineering environment.
The product range offered by Goodwin has now been extended to include a selection of high performance Axial Isolation and Control Valves.
Several years of Research, Design and Testing has been carried out to bring these products to market, with international patents pending for innovative design features.
Axial Isolation & Control Valves are used in highly demanding applications where tight shut off, high reliability, fast opening / closing and precise control are desired. Goodwin Axial Isolation & Control Valves represent a highly effective and cost efficient alternative to current designs available to the market.
